On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Warren’s Walking Meditation Labyrinth Project comes to the East Bay Recovery Center. The chalk labyrinth there is a demonstration project of Blue Skies RI, a group helping folks find different ways to manage anxiety. Blue Skies RI is working with the Town of Warren and community partners to explore how a walking meditation labyrinth will help address anxiety in the community.
Slow, rhythmic walking helps relieve anxiety. As does meditation. Walking within a labyrinth can provide a safe, focused area to combine both. To get the most out of your walk, focus on each step as your foot touches the ground. Grounding anchors us to the here and now. Walk to the center slowly, pause, and then return.
