Have you tried meditating, but your mind won’t “turn off”? Do you have a hard time sitting still and “just being”? Have you tried meditation but feel like you “fail” at it? Has meditation somehow been a negative or challenging experience for you? Try Mindful Movement.
Mindful Movement draws your focus to sensations in your body, feeling them “here and now” as you move. It’s not focused on fully quieting your mind in an effort to stop anxious thinking. The method “distracts” a focus on anxious thoughts by refocusing the mind on body sensations with or without concurrent reflective meditation.

– “Mindful yoga is not to get somewhere else, but to be where and as we actually are in this very moment, with this very breath, whether the experience is pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral.” – Jon Kabat Zinn
